About this calculator

This is a free reference tool that answers one question with real physics: what would a new air conditioner, heat pump, or furnace actually save on your energy bills? It computes the answer from the typical-year weather at the station nearest your house, the system you have today, and your own utility prices — not from national averages or marketing math.

It is deliberately not a sales tool. There is no lead form, nothing to buy, and no "get quotes" funnel. When the honest answer is that an upgrade won't pay for itself — which is common, especially where fuel is cheap — the calculator says exactly that. The methodology page documents every source and constant.

Who builds it

The calculator is built and maintained by the team at Liberty Air and Electric, a licensed HVAC and electrical contractor in Florida. We built the savings engine for our own customers and decided the national version should exist as a public reference — the kind of tool we wished existed when homeowners asked us "is the high-efficiency unit worth it?" We are not affiliated with any equipment manufacturer or utility, and this site doesn't sell or refer anything.

Using it elsewhere

Contractors, utilities, and writers are welcome to link the calculator or reference its output with attribution. An embeddable version is planned; if you want it sooner, the footer of every page says who to find.

All output is an estimate for planning, not a quote or a guarantee of savings. Estimates depend on typical-year weather and the inputs you provide; your home, installation quality, and actual weather will differ.
